My Dad Hates US More Than Your Dad..So There

Here we go again.

When all else fails, drape yourself in the Canadian flag and take a swipe at the US, it's always good for thousands of extra votes. So count on Martin to go for it with a vengeance.

The day after GWB slashed the import duties on softwood lumber by 50%, Martin lectured him on his lack of global conscience in front ot the 160 countries gathered at the UN conference on limate change in Montreal. Smart politics? Quite possibly. Smart policy? Doubtful.

No wonder a majority of Canadians rate Martin as the leader most likely to say anything to stay in power.

If you're in the beef or lumber industry, you have to scratch your head and wonder what these goings on have to do with furthering your case. Remember Francie Ducros? She was Jean Chretien's press secretary who was dismissed for having called GWB a moron.

Now a gentleman named Scott Reid who occupies the same post under Paul Martin goes one better. Instead of aptly defining Bush in an insulting (if sadly true) manner, this one insults the intelligence and ability of choice of all Canadian parents.

Last I looked, he was still employed.

Now on to the debates. Duceppe will shine (he who has nothing to lose) the other 3 will hold their own, polls will remain unchanged and at last, we'll be allowed to start thinking about Christmas.
